Remember the ‘hot felon’ who was all over the media in 2014? 33-year-old Jeremy Meeks, who is now an American fashion model, reportedly earns $1 million in a month! He became notorious after his arrest in 2014 during a gang sweep called Operation Ceasefire in Stockton, California. He was convicted of federal charges of being a felon who also possessed a firearm. When the police posted his mugshot on Facebook, however, the picture went viral and he started his modeling career while still in prison.
After he was released in March 2016, his story took a great turn. He has now walked the catwalk for some of the biggest names in fashion. Although he built a career while in prison, he is now dealing with a messy divorce.
Thanks for all the love #Blessed
The “Hot Felon” filed for divorce from his wife of eight years, Melissa Meeks over the summer. This happened shortly after he was spotted kissing Top Shop heiress, Chloe Green. After that, Meeks’ estranged wife Melissa made claims about the amount the model earns. Their divorce went public and she now claims that her ex-husband makes around $1 million a month. Also, Melissa seeks spousal as well as child support from Jeremy, according to documents seen by TMZ.
Before you jump to any unfounded conclusions, she states that her estimate is based on her ex’s modeling contracts. However, as TMZ points out, it’s not actually certain if Melissa has seen the documents. The estranged wife also says she makes $10,000 a month as a nurse in the Bay Area.
Jeremy went public with his relationship with Chloe and she has even met Jeremy’s seven-year-old son, Jeremy Jr. Melissa, on the other hand, is seeking sole legal and physical custody of the child. She claims in court documents, as seen by TMZ, that her ex “basically lives as a playboy with a rich girlfriend”.
She also claims that the fame has “gone to his head” and he only sees their son “maybe 2 days a month”.
Although the model made his catwalk debut at New York fashion week and has taken part in various photoshoots, his work has only been intermittent since his release from prison.
